“For any theatre or producer trying to figure out how to get in younger more diverse audiences, look no further. Wicket blends smart referential pop culture with a moving and lush score and story to create a true intergenerational show. Also, if laughter or enjoying theatre is your thing, then you should definitely program this.”

“I’ve been running Dad’s Garage Theatre for almost a decade now and I’ve never seen a show that draws young crowds like Wicket. It’s smart, it’s funny, it’s beautifully crafted, and it just might be the magic bullet to introduce theatre to a new generation.”

“★★★★★” The songs and jokes strike a perfect balance between accessible and insanely nerdy. I am a die hard Star Wars fan and I was a little worried my friends who are more casual fans wouldn’t enjoy it as much. I was delighted that they were laughing and cheering just as much as I was. The music and lyrics are straight up brilliant. I don’t think I stopped smiling the entire show. See Wicket while you can!!“

““★★★★★” Wicket was a surprise on all accounts. Going to see a musical based off of Star Wars canon has it’s own baggage. I am in no way a full blown Star Wars nerd. I was worried, would I get all of the jokes and references? Or would I just sit back and “pretend laugh” as those more clued in laugh around me? The fast paced nature of the play along with the morphing and evolving soundtrack (so many genres’ of music were lovingly stitched into the musical) and the tight and clear direction, made Wicket a musical I am telling family and friends to attend. Hilarious, poignant at times, and most importantly – solid fun! Wicket was a joyous surprise and one of the most pleasurable times I have spent in the theater. Two thumbs up! Also there is some surprise opera, which is f-ing awesome!“

“…A hilarious new musical …Featuring a catchy score, entertaining choreography and a plethora of jokes that will make your side hurt from laughter, WICKET is truly unlike anything you have seen before. If you don’t normally like musicals or if you love them, if you are a Star Wars fanatic or have never seen a single movie, this show is for you! Everyone deserves a laugh so why not relax and be entertained by tap-dancing storm troopers, love-struck Ewoks and a Princess that just can’t stop bursting into song (just to name a few).”

“With a score that subtly nods to successful shows like Hamilton and its namesake Wicked, WICKET manages to belt loudly in a voice all its own, just like the title character. Adding this show to your season would attract patrons of all interests; you might think you’d have to be a fan of Star Wars to appreciate the razor sharp humor of Wicket, but you’ll find that there’s a message for everyone who knows what it means to be a fan of anything.”

“★★★★★” Wicket was everything I hoped it would be and more. As a Star Wars and musical theater fan, the references and meta humor added so many layers to appreciate, but the story and themes are accessible to everyone who appreciates underdog tales, unexpected friendships, and poop jokes. So many poop jokes. The songs are quick and clever, so you will want to listen to the soundtrack at least once to catch everything. Raunchy, irreverent, but full of heart, Wicket is a parody that pulls from many sources to create something that feels uniquely itself, and it has a lot to say about pop culture, representation in media, and the relationship between a creator and his/her art.”
